Programs
NURSERY:
Our nursery is for babies 0-18 months. We provide Nursery care for the time during Sunday School at 9:00 am and our Worship Service at 10:15 am. Our facility is clean and inviting. Our goal is for babies to feel loved and secure and for their parents to feel comfortable as they leave their babies to attend Worship Services and Sunday School classes.
A parent pager system offers immediate notification for parents during the service should your child need you. Our Nursery is staffed by trained volunteers who have gone through an application process which involves criminal background screening.
We are very concerned for the safety of children here at Mt. Scott Church. You can expect to sign in and receive a pager for your child when you leave them in the nursery. Along with notifying you of your child’s needs, the pager also serves as your identification to pick up your child from the nursery.
We run a “Well Baby” Nursery, and expect all of our parents to abide by it for the good of all families. We will not accept any babies with any of the following conditions, and you will be notified immediately should any of them develop while your child is in our care:
Fever, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, or persistent cough
PRE-SCHOOL:
Our pre-school ministry serves children ages 18 months-Kindergarten.
This is a unique and vital opportunity to touch lives in a way that says “God loves you, and so do we.” Our cheery and colorful rooms are a welcome environment for your child. All classes in the pre-school program are on identical curriculum tracks. This means that your child will learn from the same Bible story and teaching point for both hours on Sundays, and all classes are studying the same principles and stories each week.
Lil Sprouts is a class for 18 months- 3 years old. Children move into this class when they turn 18 months and stay until June when they are 3 years old. Children in this class are introduced to Bible Story time, simple crafts and singing together, and are given free play time.
Seedlings is a class for 3 and 4 year olds. Children move into this class in June of their 3rd year and stay until June when they are 5 years old. Children in this class learn God’s Word through interactive teaching, play and hands on activity.
Bloomers is a class for Kindergartners. Children move into this class in June before attending Kindergarten, and say until September when they are promoted to the grade school program. Children in this class learn God’s Word through interactive teaching, play and hands on activity.
GRADE SCHOOL:
Our Grade School ministry serves children in 1st-6th grade.
Sunday morning class for 1st-6th grade begins at 9:00 am, and gives kids large and small group time to study God’s Word and build relationships with other kids their age. Our unit this Fall is “Entourage: How to be the right kind of friend”. Music, skits and dramatic Bible Story are part of the large group time, followed by more in depth life application and discipleship elements in the smaller groups.
Grade school kids worship with their families at the 10:15 service until dismissed to Kids Church.
Every 5th Sunday is Family Worship Sunday. Children remain in the Worship Service with their families and are provided with special children’s bulletins
