Mission Statement: Mt. Scott Student Ministries exists to reach non-believing students, to connect them with other Christians, help them grow in their faith, challenge the growing to discover their ministry and honor God with their lives.
If you’re a Jr. High or High School student, Mt. Scott has you covered…
SMBS Sunday Morning Bible Study, 9am on Sunday Mornings
SMBS is an incredible time for you to become an ordinary radical and pursue your life as a disciple of Christ. Every Sunday morning you can find an opportunity for all students to engage, wrestle, discover and enjoy God’s word. Ever been confused about God or the bible? Ever feel like you don’t know how to talk about your faith? Ever feel like there is more to life than what the media shows you? If any of this sounds exciting to you come check us out, you won’t regret it!
Youth Nights Sunday Nights, 6-8pm during the School Year
Youth Night is an amazing time where students can come together and help one another discover what friendship, encouragement and challenge are all about. What you will find on Sunday nights is snacks, worship, games, prayer, having fun with friends and hearing truth and God’s word. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you come from or what you know, all that matters is that this is a safe place where we can fight through life together. Don’t miss out!

Hi, my name is Aaron and here is just little information about myself. I was born in the summer of 1984 in Glendora California (Some say I don’t have any California blood in me, I say they’re wrong). When I was 5 my family and I moved up to Portland and have been here ever since. I graduated from Warner Pacific College with a degree in Religion and Christian Ministry. I have just recently been married to the most beautiful woman in the world, Katie. As the youth pastor at Mt. Scott Church, I am in charge of Jr. High Ministries (JHM) and High School Ministries (HSM) and help oversee the Young Adult Group.
My passion in life is students. There is no greater honor in my opinion than to have the opportunity to be a part of the lives of students. From having fun times at a pool party or having serious conversations over a cup of coffee (Or Iced White Mocha In my case), my goal is to give students the chance to encounter God. My prayer is that we as a student ministry will create an environment encouragement, love, support and acceptance. As we grow closer to one other, we ultimately grow closer to God and discover our true identity and purpose.
