Financial

Many people are experiencing financial challenges today such as Credit Card Debt, lack of a budget, not sticking to a budget, family stress due to financial crisis, marital difficulty due to financial disunity, suffocating materialism, and more. God has given us the answers to our financial problems. More than 2350 verses in the Bible tell us everything we need to know about handling money and possessions. Sadly, most people do not manage their finances based on God’s principles and they suffer the consequences.

Mt. Scott Church of God provides several opportunities for you to learn about these sound financial principles from a biblical perspective. This is done primarily through small group bible studies developed by Crown Financial Ministries. These 10-week home bible studies are offered in the fall and spring. Personal financial mentoring is available as well as referrals to certified financial counselors.

What Are Crown Small-Group Studies?
Crown Small-Group Studies are a remarkably effective Bible study developed to train adults to practically apply the financial principles from God’s Word.

Most Christians have only been taught God’s principles of handling 10 percent of their income–the area of giving. Although this is crucial, they do not understand the Lord’s perspective on handling the other 90 percent.

In the Crown study you will learn what Scripture teaches about managing all your possessions. These topics are included.

  • Getting Out of Debt
  • Giving
  • Saving
  • Training Children
  • Spending
  • Earning Money
  • Budgeting
  • Investing

The study is very practical. Each time you learn a principle, you will apply what you have learned. For example, you will complete a debt repayment schedule and start a budget. Students in the adult study receive a Student Manual, the Practical Application Workbook and a copy of Your Money Counts.

Graduates have confirmed that marriages are being strengthened and individuals are getting out of debt. They also are becoming consistent savers, generous givers, and prudent consumers. Most importantly, people are entering into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ as they learn to apply His Word.
